Group: Location Reccie Planning

Purpose:

To assess the location and surroundings for filming a horror sequence. We are going to test out different shots and techniques and see if a woods is a suitable location for our film. We will do a risk assessment of the area to ensure its a safe area to film.

Risk Assessment:

A risk assessment is analysing the potential dangers of a location. The potential hazards we have identified at Wilderness Woods are slipping over tree roots and on the mud, getting lost in the woods, burning yourself on the barbeque, poisonous plants, hurting yourself on machinery, hitting low branches, dogs and other animals.
To minimise these dangers, we will take extra precautions and stick together as a group as well as watching our step and being careful around dangerous objects.

Planning:

We are going to use this location in preparation for our coursework to try out different shots and angles. Experimenting with camera movements is a main priority for us and getting used to using a tracker and a dolly. We will also see if the iconography of the woods is suitable for our sub genre of horror which is slasher/stalker.
